This is the pre-test that will indicate where you will start on the proficiency ladder. Please take this first and then fill out your ladder. |
|
Once you have completed the Pre-test send a picture to me (if you're absent for an extended amount of time) and I'll tell you the problems you got correct. Then use it to fill our your Proficiency Ladder, which is linked below if you don't have it with you.
Targeted Practice Based on Ladder
- If you are working on defining the words at the very beginning of ladder:
- Look up the definitions of the words you don't know and write the definitions on your evidence paper.
- Give an example of each if possible.
- If you are working on 2.MD.6:
- Click the button below and it will take you to a task to complete.
- Then do the question that goes with this standard on the pre-test.
- If you are working on 3.NF.2
- Click the buttons below and complete each task linked to each button.
- If you're working on 4.NF.6:
- Click each button below and do the tasks with each button.
- If you're working on 5.G.1 or 5.G.2:
- Watch the video and make the foldable in the video.
- You can glue the foldable on your next available even page in your notebook.
- Use your new foldable to help you with the task linked on the button below the video.
- If you're working on 6.NS.7a:
- Start by watching the video and taking notes on the video (as needed).
- Complete the problems pictured below the video. I'll check your work when you're done. You can email me your answers if you're not in class.
- If you're working on 6.NS.6c:
- First, watch the video for 5.G.1 and 5.G.2 (if you haven't watched it yet) and complete the foldable that goes with the video.
- Then complete the problems below.
If you need 7.RP.2 you will meet that objective with the second 8.ee.5!!!
- If you're working on the first 8.EE.5 (this will meet the first 8.EE.6 as well):
- Login to your bigideasmath.com account and click on the "Student Dynamic eBook". Go to Activity 4.1 "Graphing Linear Equations". You will need to complete only Activity 1 and answer questions 3 and 5 in this activity. You may use either of the tools next to the blue title for Activity 1 if you find them useful. If you'd like to print these workbook pages click on the red book icon at the top of the page and print the first 3 pages in the pdf.
- Next, go to Activity 4.2 " Slope of a Line" and complete this entire activity. Notes: For Activity 1 there are tools that you can use where you don't have to graph all the lines and the tool is the green triangle next to the definition of slope at the top of the page. The tool next to Activity 3 is an online graphing tool that you can use to complete the activity for a) and b), then answer c) through e) in your spiral.

- If you're working in the second 8.EE.5: (All students working on this objective)
- Complete the task using your notes by clicking the buttons.
2. If you still need the meet the 7th grade objective (7.RP.2) please complete the following things:
- Set your objective (using your ladder).
- For the two problems linked to the buttons explain what a point (x, y) means on the graph in terms of the problem.
- Then look at the point (0,0) and (1, r) on each graph and explain what those points mean on the graph.
- Working on 8.EE.6:
1. Grab a colored piece of paper or the yellow foaldable if you're in the classroom and construct the foldable pictured below. You don't quite fold your paper in half, but so there is about an inch for a title at the bottom. You cut the top layer along the dotted lines to your fold, so it opens up like a flip book.
2. Then go to bigideasmath.com and login with your account info. Go to "Students Dynamic e-Book" and go to Activity 4.4 titled "Graphing Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form". You will do all activities in this Activity. The green box thing next to Activity 1 is an online graphing calculator you can use, so you do not have to graph all the equations by hand. If you'd like to print these pages click on the red book icon at the top of the page and complete the first three pages. As you work on these pages try to fill in what each letter y, m, x, and b might represent. If you can't do this just from the workbook pages sign up for a mini-lesson.
3. Ask to see my yellow foldable to check to see if you have everything.
4. Next, let me know when you need practice problems and I will assign you some practice problems that go with this concept.
5. Once you've gotten the practice problems assigned login to bigideasmath.com with your new username and password you created. There will be an assignment waiting for you under the "Assignments" tab. As you are working be sure to check your answers and if you can't figure out the correct answer watch the tutorials associated with the question.
6. Once you have finished these practice problems you are ready for the assessment. Grab a study guide from the front of the room (or find it attached below). If you feel ready for the assessment sign-up (or email me if you're not in class).
7. Complete your assessment on School Vault.
